Key Responsibilities

 

  • Executes assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, codes and standards.
  • Prepares equipment mechanical Datasheets, specification for the defined mechanical equipment as per relevant Technical Practices. Issue material requisition for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions.
  • Creates Engineering Flow Diagrams with reference to assigned equipment.
  • Creates Piping Layouts and Model with reference to assigned equipment.
  • Keeps Principal Engineer informed about matters related to the following:
  • Any major issue (design, schedule or manpower).
  • Any unresolved difference with other Groups.
  • Any request for changes by the Client which may constitute a contract change.
  • Performs the engineering of all rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units on assigned projects.
  • Performs calculations, designs and directs the preparation of drawings and layouts for the various stationary equipment installations related to assigned projects.
  • Conducts studies and prepares reports on designs, layouts and mechanical engineering problems arising from revamps, future expansions or new major projects.
  • Prepares project related standard, project specific standards and job notes.
  • Prepares, updates and reissues monthly requisition index for rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units, indicating planned issue date for each requisition.
  • Prepares general notes requisitions for rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
  • Reviews flow sheets for correctness of depicting of rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units, operating and design conditions and piping and instrumentation connections.
  • Compiles mechanical datasheets and requisition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
  • Prepares technical bid analysis and evaluation reports for rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
  • Maintains technical integrity.
  • Delivers and supports a strong HSE culture.
  • Supports the Management where required.
  • Participates in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, HAZOP, Design Reviews and PEER Reviews.
  • Liaises and interacts with other disciplines to ensure overall project goals are met.
  • Utilises suitable technology to increase efficiency.
  • Fully conversant with process safety and ensures its implementation within the Mechanical design.
  • Keeps up to date with latest procedures, client requirements and legislation.
  • Follows the Ethics of Confidentiality on technologies licensed by Client or Third Party.
  • Ensures Project Filing is maintained as per Quality Procedures.
  • Ensures Timely Production of Deliverables.
  • Performs proper closeout of all Project related work.
  • Ensures high Quality of work within the established/assigned man-hour budgets and schedule targets.

Skills / Qualifications

 

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of which 8 years must be related to the oil and gas industry.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English as a minimum (Russian and Italian would also be an advantage).
  • Familiar with international engineering company working procedures, and with strong capacity on preparing Engineering Documentations, such as project specifications, MRs, TBE, Vendor’s documents review and comments and so on.
  • Good computer skill at the Rotary equipment design software and normal software Excel, Word and CAD etc.
  • Solid teamwork spirit, and good communication skill with Client, Supplier and Contractors; good English language skill on both writing and speaking; be able to set up a good relationship with other disciplines in work.
  • Extensive experience on Rotary equipment’s calculation, selection and operating analysis and so on.
  • Conversant with relevant international standards and Codes or Practice.
  • Worked in an Engineering Project environment.
